Verano Holdings Corp Announces Leadership Transition
CHICAGO, August 7, 2025 – Verano Holdings Corp., a prominent multistate cannabis company, announced today that Darren Weiss has resigned from his position as President. Weiss is pursuing new business opportunities in the cannabis industry outside of North America.
During his tenure, Weiss played a pivotal role at Verano, joining in 2017 as General Counsel and progressing through various leadership positions, including Chief Legal Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and most recently, President. His expertise in both legal matters and operations was instrumental in scaling Verano from a startup into one of the leading cannabis operators in the U.S.
Weiss will continue to contribute to Verano as a consultant, focusing on international business development. Verano has secured a right of first refusal on any new business ventures Weiss may undertake, ensuring continued collaboration.
